He became very same-same and despite settling well into his life as a pirate, he didn’t seem to develop in character. Her parents are gone, and her sister, Elsa - the only person who might show her an ounce of love - is cold and distant.

There were moments that I felt could have been expanded on and really fleshed out as they felt rather glazed over but I suppose the main audience for this book wants something to the point.Funny how much sympathy can be drawn for these “villains”, excellent narration and wonderful tale of piracy! But he finds himself the unwilling villain, beholden to at least 7 different witches, Blackbeard, Peter, crocodiles, and hell I lost count. If they've caused so much shit to so many innocent Villains, why doesn't she just pull their arses out of the mirror and just destroy them?

Valentino does a great job stepping into the shoes of each of these villains but I think as the series continues, I just find myself wanting more. This is not necessarily the case in the prior novels, but in my view, it is certainly the case with Never Never.

Step into Disney Mirrorverse, where mirrored reflections of iconic characters are amplified and evolved, becoming battle-ready Guardians that must unite to defeat a powerful evil that threatens their home worlds. Unfortunately, the change in setting within the second third of the book got me the wrong way and while the world building itself and how the author managed to connect all the classic Disney stories was fascinating, I was extremely sad to leave the sea and ship scenery behind. Here is one version of the story that has remained untold for centuries--a tale of mothers and daughters, youth and dark magic. Peter Pan: The Second Star to the Right • You Can Fly • A Pirate's Life (Is a Wonderful Life) • Following the Leader • What Made the Red Man Red?James is claimed by his parents just shy of seven days–after which he would have officially become a Lost Boy. I found myself pleasantly surprised by the path that the author chose to take and caught myself wishing that the original story had some of this backstory included in it. Sherman, 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney; and she still enjoys dancing around in Snow White pajamas and serenading her family members with Sleeping Beauty’s “Once Upon A Dream” (though, unlike Princess Aurora, she is not blessed with the gift of song).
